Foster The People To Play Singapore On 14 January
Foster The People will be playing their first concert in Singapore on 12 January 2012 at Fort Canning.
It has been a whirlwind year for Foster The People, a band that less than 20 months ago were relatively unknown. That all changed with the release of the xtremely catchy and now certified platinum single “Pumped Up Kicks” and the global release of their debut album “Torches”.
The band - Mark Foster (Vocals/Guitar /Keyboards), Jacob (Cubbie) Fink (Bass/Keyboard/Background Vocals) and Mark Pontius (Drums) - have been playing together since late 2009 and this last year has resulted in a Top 10 Album on the Billboard 200, a monstrous hit at top 40 radio, numerous TV appearances, dozens of headlining concerts, a best new artist Nomination at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards and coveted performance slots at Coachella, Lollapalooza and the Austin City Limits Music Festival.
Foster The People have heeded the call of their fans in Asia and will officially be winging their way here in the New Year.
UK's NME wrote: “Accessible yet challenging, gleaming yet gritty, pop yet petrifying. Foster the People are a fresh evolution of modern music.”
Foster The People's inaugural visit to Singapore is made by possible by Chugg Entertainment. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at SISTIC outlets.
