Seyra At The Esplanade Concourse
This month, the series of acoustic gigs at the Esplanade Concourse features local artists going on an intimate musical journey as they share songs that have moved and inspired them.
Seyra is a singer-songwriter whose music speaks of the peculiarities and insecurities of youth, hope, existence—and love in between. Armed with a unique songwriting style and soulful voice, her indie folk-pop tunes capture the bittersweet aspects of life’s uncertainties. She writes about suburban ennui, and the mini-tragedies and triumphs of everyday life that often go unnoticed against the drudgery of living in the city. Together with her band, an experimental folk-fusion inspired outfit comprising of Khidir Osman on guitar and Melodica, Zack He on percussion and guitar, and Rupak George on bass and glockenspiel, they aim to create a unique indie sound.
Besides her original songs, Seyra will perform some of the songs from artists she has been inspired by. Expect songs by artists such as Feist, Kings of Convenience and Indonesian band The Trees and The Wild.
